Babysitting Granny

Sunday 23rd July § Leave a comment

I just watched Granny stop breathing. She was breathing really heavily. Struggling for air. Then suddenly she started breathing shallower; quieter and quieter; until she just stopped.

Lying there motionless. A whole minute of silence seemed to pass.

Then in one huge body-shaking gasp her body reasserted itself and she returned to the heavy breathing. Still completely asleep.

The Granny I know by day is very different from the Granny I’ve seen tonight. I never thought I’d be so glad to hear someone snoring.
